Fresh air is healthy. This makes it important to ensure good indoor air quality. Special window fittings from Winkhaus help with this. They let in fresh air and at the same time protect from unwanted guests. How does it work? Quite simply: with “opelosing,” the innovative window position. Maximum user-friendliness allowing easy operation for handicapped users makes this an attractive solution,
Windows can be closed and opened. Thanks to Winkhaus, now you can also “opelose” them. The window sash is offset with a gap of about 6 mm around the perimeter for ventilation. Winkhaus activPilot Comfort fittings make this possible.

During "opelosing," the window lets in fresh outside air and is closed at the same time to provide protection against uninvited guests. In this manner, rooms are securely and efficiently ventilated even when users are absent. This prevents structural damage caused by mildew and creates a healthy room climate.

Safe and efficient ventilation

The innovative window position combines a natural, draught-free and energy-saving ventilation with effective burglary resistance up to RC2. This resistance class is recommended by the Criminal Police for windows and patio doors. The opelosed window also provides better protection from driving rain and outside noise than a tilted window. The same applies for keeping out insects. - “Opelosing” can contribute to the cooling of rooms during the evening hours, especially during hot summer months.

Suitable for many windows

The special Winkhaus fittings can now be used to equip a wide variety of windows made of PVC-U, wood or aluminium - including barrier-free windows and sliding doors. Winkhaus fittings can often even be retrofitted.

A motorised window equipped with the activPilot Comfort PADM fitting system offers an especially high comfort level. If desired, it will also open to the opelosed position by itself and close again automatically. So it can be used as an alternative for ventilation systems, as has been confirmed in a recent study by the Fraunhofer Institute (IBP). A backlit touch panel can activate ventilation at pre-set intervals or release the window so that it can be turned to open manually. The window can also be conveniently operated using the remote control. The innovative technology is thus also suitable for hard-to-access windows in places such as stairways. The system can also be upgraded with devices such as air quality sensors which detect factors such as the temperature, room humidity or CO2 levels. These sensors trigger ventilation whenever it is required. This ensures that the room air temperature and humidity remain optimal at all times. The technology can also be integrated into the building control system via potential-free contacts and can be integrated into many smart home concepts.
